Women in Revolt Brooch - Christine BinnieHandmade ceramic brooch created by Neo Naturist artist Christine Binnie to celebrate Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 19701990 exhibition at the Whitworth. Each brooch is engraved and has a metallic finish. This brooch is glazed, and the engraving is done using a technique call sgraffito. This is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour, done in slip on ceramics before firing.

Average quality, not as premium as expected

Before buying, I thought it would be a thick, glossy satin ribbon. After receiving it, I found the material is rather thin and the texture feels quite ordinary. When used for gift wrapping, it looks a bit cheap and doesn’t match the effect shown in the pictures.
